Medical protocols for crews exposed to engine oil fumes on aircraft

In 2007, the OHRCA team, led by Dr. Robert Harrison at UCSF, produced a comprehensive medical protocol intended to educate physicians on the potential for exposure to oil fumes on aircraft, associated symptoms, and suitable medical workups. The team also produced a two-page abbreviated version of the medical protocol .

Airliner Cabin Environment Research: ACER is a research consortium funded through a Federal Aviation Administration Cooperative Agreement entitled “National Air Transportation Center of Excellence for Research in the Intermodal Transport Environment (RITE).
